September 25th, 2006 — Family
I take my dogs, Scooby and Zoe, two typically mad Jack Russell Terriers on a couple of walks each day down Flagler Drive, up a mile to Downtown West Palm Beach, and then across the Royal Palm Bridge to Palm Beach. I seem to bring many fisherman luck as I pass them with the dogs on the Royal Palm Bridge and they get a bite. OK, maybe it’s the dogs. The other night a guy looked liked he might land a whale based on how much both the rod and him looked like they could just be pulled into the drink. Which made this nugget from my new found relative Jeanne Gude Taysom in one of her e-mail newsletters (Chers Tous) particularly funny for me.
“Two fishermen sitting on a bridge, their lines in the water, made a bet as to which would catch the first fish. Hank got a bite and became so excited that he fell off the bridge. Bill sniffed indignantly, “Well, if you’re going to dive for them, the bet’s off!”
September 11th, 2006 — Blogs, Internet, Random, Technology
Seth Godin, acclaimed Internet marketer, author, and blogger had these reminders for those of us who live in the ‘cutting edge’ interactive world (wank wank).
My favorite?
Brazil drinks 11% of the worlds coffee. Talk about living on the edge! I really must go there – apparently there are some serious coffee tweakers in crime there…
Thanks for sending this one over to me Shan!

September 7th, 2006 — Cool, Internet, Technology
It’s pretty fun to be able to perform keyword searches on news from 1890 from the New York Times and The Washington Post. Now that Google has launched their News Archives function you can your search these rags and others to your heart’s content. Unfortunately, many of the links will take you to paid news archives services that won’t let you see the full content of the page your search found, but hey, it’s a start.
September 2nd, 2006 — Newsvine, Noteworthy
For the last few hours I’ve been unable to reach Newsvine. All other sites are loading and I’ve tried both my Mac and Windows XP machines to reach them, using all the popular browsers (and then some). I occasionally get a page to load but it’s very rare. Has the Vine been hacked? I can’t find any news about this yet out on the blogosphere or on the news wires. Too bad I can’t write a story about it on Newsvine, er….
Update: Read the full story to see Mike’s comment.
