Joseph Jaffe of JaffeJuice.com, a respected colleague and conversation leader in my line of work is hosting an online book sale today over on Amazon.com. His latest book is called Join The Conversation and promises to share new research, case studies, insights, along with trends in social media that are happening right now in businesses around the world – large and small.
Joseph is using OUR network of bloggers and blog readers along with his offline and online social networks to make a statement about our collective voice today by selling as many books on this day as we can (Sunday October 21, 2007). I just purchased a copy for Shannon and I, and I hope you do the same. Joseph does very good work.
Buy the book today using this link and Joseph will donate all the affiliate commissions from today’s book sales to charity.
If you want to enjoy more of Joseph’s work I’d also suggest you listen to his weekly podcast Jaffe Juice and visit his company Crayon, a social media company among the first agencies to build online communities in Second Life.

My good friend Ami Givertz just recommended it on a phone discussion we had yesterday and I’m really appreciative of his recommending it and paying his info knowledge forward. So, here’s my contribution to keep the chain going.
Today we visited Dr. Gowda for his birthday and Doctor Gowda gave him a wonderful gift. John’s platelets are now up to 206,000!!! Woo hoo!
That’s the highest John’s platelets have ever been since he contracted ITP and the third straight week of rapidly rising platelet counts despite the fact that his steroids have been tapered back to 2.5mg every other day (he started at 15mg a day). It really looks like John may be in remission. It’s sure to be a big celebratory weekend for all these reasons. I’m including two pictures from today. The first is with Dr. Gowda. Dr. Gowda is calm, positive, knowledgeable, intelligent, and as warm as our South Florida waters. The second picture is with John’s nurse Lourdes who is the best kind of nurse – kind, thoughtful, and capable!
Speaking of geat summer tours I hear that I should never have missed John Mayer this year on his Continuum tour. Rather than wallow in regret I’m listening to the album as I do frequently and just enjoying the hell out of it. I was looking over the liner notes and see that John left a note just for me at the very end.

Shannon and I felt The Dave Matthews Band were particularly good this summer when we saw them on their West Palm Beach Florida stop. We saw Friday’s show – September 14, 2007. My take on it was that they’re getting too old to be stoned all the time and therefore were sharper – more on tempo. Maybe it was the addition to the touring band of Trumpet player Rashawn Ross? Whatever the reason they were great. We had a wonderful time. I was just cleaning out my office and rather than just chucking away the ticket stubb or secreting it in to a box I’ll never do anything with I thought I would scan it for posterity. Long live Dave and the band.
Went to John’s weekly Doctor visit today and lo and behold his platelets are up to 141,000. Just as last week, his platelet’s are up despite the fact that we’ve been tapering his steroid dosage down. He looks like he is on the mend for real.
Today is Michael’s 20th birthday. Happy Birthday Michael!
Aunt Jan leaves tomorrow for Cape Cod after a short stay here since Tuesday. It’s been a great visit.
