I shot a few scenes of Palm Beach and the Atlantic Ocean on a blustery day and turned around for a look down Worth Avenue at ground level.

It was a nice rain accompanied by a soothing natural white noise. I got down low to the pool deck and saw the rain droplets careening and splashing off the pool surface in all directions. It seemed like a dance between two forces of water.

We went camping recently at Jonathan Dickinson State Park which is close by in Hobe Sound (about 25 minutes away from us). Due to our close proximity Shannon’s brother Michael dropped by for a visit and brought our dog Zoe for a little adventure.

In this video Shannon and Zoe are featured but Michael and J&J make appearances as well.

Mr. Flowers is a Gopher Turtle who turned up at our camping trip recently. He was shy at first but soon went on an eating binge that gave him his name.

Our Jack Russell Terrier Zoe is a great hunter of all things rodent or reptilian. She loves to hang out on a rocky cropping on our property and search through the rocks for her next victim. It always ends the same way, Zoe disappearing into the brush or rocks with only the trademark JRT hind quarters and frenetic tail left in view.

John’s working on a science project for school over the new month. He’s been documenting his purpose and hypothesis and some variables he wanted to test. But this is all subterfuge for John’s real purpose: to blow stuff up.

Shannon noticed our hawk friend out the upstairs window and I was able to sneak out a side door downstairs with my videocamera and tri-pod to take this shot with a zoom lens. I finished one minute and then tried to move closer but he flew off.

It’s day three of Vlomo11 and my attempt to do a ‘talkie’ went wonderfully awry when I asked John to take over filming. I get credit for that, the rest is plain kid magic. Oh, and I’m clearly gifted when it comes to playing the straight man. I knew I was supposed to be in front of the camera!

I’m taking a stab at a once-per-day video for Vlomo11 here on Julians.name. I’m also collaborating with my father in our shared Vlomo11 on ThePencilofNature.net. At least half of my videos for Vlomo11 will be from my collaboration.

I’m going to try and go ‘light’ on editing and shooting and be more open to subjects in order to get through the month with a mad schedule mixed with frenetic small business adventures at exceler8 and kid chores. Speaking of kids, I bet they’ll feature prominently. If I simply follow my life my videos will be wake, jump in pool, get kids to school, work like mad, get kids, sport with kids, kid feeding, kids to bed, work until drop. That’s why I’m doing this. I need to break the pattern.
